The Sovereign Order of Saint Jon or Jerusalem, Knights of Malta, Federation of the Autonomous Priories (KMFAP) has its roots dated back in the 11th Century C.E. The chivalric order had a long, eventful, tumultuous but also remarkable history to become a huge international-renowned organization. Today, the KMFAP is made up of 13,500 knights, dames and additional members as well as 42,000 medical personnel and 80,000 volunteers from various countries all over the globe including Singapore, the motherland of H.E Sir Desmond Teo Yen Koon.

Inspired by the rich history of the KMFAP and key missions of the chivalric order, Dr Desmond Teo Yen Koon took a keen interest in their activities. After a long journey of extensive research about the KMFAP, rigorous training and self-development, Dr Desmond Teo Yen Koon was finally knighted by the KMFAP for his outstanding dedication towards the beliefs and long-term missions of the order.

Now known by the title of H.E Sir Desmond Teo Yen Koon, the knight holds two positions – namely Singapore prior and Envoy-at-large.

Roles and Responsibilities as a KMFAP Knight

H.E Sir Desmond Teo Yen Koon is responsible for a variety of KMFAP activities and initiatives in Singapore. He also represents the nation at KMFAP gatherings and major events all over the world.  His duties as Singapore prior and Envoy-at-large has brought him to various big occasions in countries such as Ladce.

With major duties as a Singapore Prior and Envoy-at-large as well as a massive amount of love for his country, H.E Sir Desmond Teo Yen Koon remains committed to his responsibilities as a knight of the KMFAP. He hopes to continue working hard and setting an example for his peers to follow.
